The concept of MERGE is to exhibit work by artists married to artists. Six couples make up this exhibition. The creative potential of these dynamic relationships is plentiful.

The inspiration for MERGE comes from my own marriage to Todd Leech. Our studio pursuits are inseparable from our life together. Although we make individual works, we constantly support, encourage and critique each other. For us, this is a privileged and fortunate relationship.

I imagine there is a similarly strong creative bond with each of the other invited artists. To exploit this creative potential, I requested that each couple create a collaborative work, merging their creative efforts. MERGE includes two or three works by each of the twelve artist and six collaborative works.

It has been such a pleasure working with these talented artists. I hope you enjoy this exhibition as much as I do.
